Most late-model Honda and Acura vehicles have what is called a Clutch Damper (or Clutch Dampening Diaphragm), which is there to subdue tiny vibrations that permeate through the clutch pedal. These vibrations mainly stem from the release bearing (throw-out bearing) when it engages the pressure plate, but are very minimal and often not an issue by driving enthusiasts' standards.
This factory clutch damper becomes a problem though, as it is prone to leaking or even blowing out completely. In addition, it takes away from the clutch pedal feel since it features a chamber that will increase in volume with raising fluid pressures. This becomes especially apparent with upgraded/aftermarket clutch kits and pressure plates.
At best, the OEM clutch damper will subdue your pedal input, and make quick-shifts difficult if not impossible. And at worst, it can leave you stranded if the master cylinder is no longer able to displace the necessary hydraulic fluid to properly disengage the clutch pressure plate!
